I don't know why, but I liked making this piece.
It's a collage of all the random things found on my desk after a while & it's supposed to look like a face but I don't know...

There has been much debate on the background...

Heavy gel medium, ink, pen, pencil and a sucker wrapper.

personally, i dont think you need to worry about the background. In a loud cluttered image, the empty cardboard look behind fits like a glove in my opinion. Of course the material itself plays a good complementary with the main focus which is really impressive

Quick response! Well, some people recommended that I give a solid red background instead- but I just sort of went with the cardboard out of instinct.

No prob, cant wait to see more. Good call on sticking to instinct though, while i can see maybe a dark red fitting with this just as well, the contrast of fore and background were nailed right on the head here.

I can see how red would work, but I like the restraint of the cardboard - sometimes less is more!
